Dear Parent,
1. On behalf of the entire team of DSPA, Kalakurichi, I congratulate your son/daughter on him/her selection for admission into our prestigious Academy and whole heartedly by welcome him/her as a member of DSPA family.
2. Detailed Instructions have been formulated to help your son/daughter to join and settle down as smoothly and quickly as possible. Please read them carefully and follow them strictly to avoid any inconvenience later. These instructions are divided into three parts as given below:-
a) Part I - Documentation - Appendix 'A'
b) Part II - List of Items to be brought by Candidate
at the time of joining. - Appendix 'B'
c) Part III - Rules and Regulations at DSPA - Appendix 'C'
3. The Academy is located at Kalakurichi, Tamilnadu. It is centrally located. The nearest railway station is either Vizhuppuram which is 100 km away or Salem which is 70 km away. From either locations Kalakurichi is well connected by bus service/taxies.
4. You are requested to come to school at 09:00 hrs on 15 May 2023 along with your ward for completing the admission formalities. It is desirable that parents should accompany their child.
5. Your ward would be retained in the school on the same day. Therefore, you are required to come prepared for the same.
6. It may be noted that the Academy will not be in a position to provide accommodation for your stay. You may therefore, kindly make your own arrangements in town which has a number of good hotels.
7. Reception: There will be a reception desk at the main gate of AKT Group of Institutions at Kallakurichi. You are requested to provide advance information of your arrival details to Sub Azhaguvel.( +91 86380 13868). Your advance information of arrival details will facilitate coordination with the reception cell.
8. Amount Payable by the Parents
The total yearly fees will be Rs.2,60000. Total amount will be paid in three instalments
- At the time of SSB Interview Rs.25000.
- At the time of joining the Institution in May( First Term Fees - Rs.1,15000)
- Second Term Fees in Septembeer - Rs.1,20000

9. Apart from the school fees above the following additional amount will be paid at the time of admission :
- Security Deposit Rs.2000(Refundable after two years)
- Clothing / Items to be procured from AKT Store(Column two of Appendix B) - Rs.12000

10. Failure of payment of fees by 15th April 24 would be assumed as the Cadet is not joining the Academy and the vacancy would be given to cadets in waiting list as per seniority.
11. Pocket Money
Every student is required to deposit a sum of 5,000/- in his Pocket
Money Account for his personal expenditure like for purchasing Note-books,
stationary items, medical treatment, tour, visits, picnic, participation in outstation
sports, games, competition, other examinations, hair cutting, washing charges, etc.
12. Mobiles
Mobiles are permitted. Usage will be rectricted to only one hour a day. Mobiles will be deposited with warden for safe custody.
13. Scholarship Scheme (Only Applicable on Full Strength of 120 Cadets per Batch)
Scholarship will be provided by the DSPA for 7 childrens as under:-
(a) Full Scholarship (66%) – 2 Nos (Rs. 85000 only for (Hostel & Food))(Boys Toper-1,Girls Toper-1)
(b) Half Scholarship (50% of Total Fees) – 5 Nos(Rs. 1,25,000 only)(Boys-3,Girls-2)

14. (a) In the event of your Ward not reporting on due date, the candidature of your son/ward will be cancelled and the seat will be offered to the child next in the order of merit.
(b) The parent of the ward is required to sign all the admission documents. Therefore, the presence of parent along with the ward is mandatory for completion of admission formalities.
(c) Please note that the candidature of your ward is only provisional and is subject to production/correctness of all documents as mentioned above and payment of fees.
1. Please ensure that before your son reports to the Academy the under mentioned documents are duly completed. The formats where applicable are given as Annexure to Appendix ‘A’. These documents are to be executed by you and are important and must be presented in original at the time of admission, failing which the admission will be cancelled.

1. Cadets at DAV-AKT Defence Preparatory Academy are always required to be smartly turned out. When Cadets arrive to join they should be well dressed as described below:-
(a) White full sleeves shirt, Black trousers, socks, black leather oxford pattern
shoes and tie.
(b) Proper army style Hair cut must be taken.
2. Clothing, Toiletry, Stationary and Misc. items as mentioned below must accompany the cadets at the time of admission, so that they may wear them till their Academy uniforms are stitched.
3. Parents may, if they so desire, can plan to purchase some of items available at the Pro shop/Canteen in the Academy.
4. Parents are to ensure that proper measurements are given in the tailor shop and make full payments in advance to get the Academy uniforms stitched before leaving.

Note:
1. A Cadet is welcome to bring any musical instrument, the item will be
cared for and he will have ample opportunity to use it.
2. A Cadet can get any of his personnel hobby collections to pursue.
1. While in the Academy cadets are subject to certain rules and regulations. A few of the important ones are highlighted in this section for your information. As discipline is very important it is recommended that your son be advised to strictly follow them during his stay at the Academy to ensure fruitful and productive schooling.
The under mentioned simple Dos and Don'ts must be observed:-
a) Be punctual for all Academy/School activities like classes, games,
parades etc.
b) Be smartly and neatly dressed at all times for all academy activities in the
prescribed dress.
c) Follow the academy routine as promulgated.
d) Keep all the personal possessions neat and tidy at all times.
e) Be courteous to seniors and superiors at the Academy.
f) Maintain high standards of honesty and integrity. Using of unfair means
and other acts involving moral turpitude are dealt with severely.
g) Ensure personal hygiene for good health as given below:-
i. Brushing teeth twice a day.
ii. Clipping of nails once a week.
iii. Bathing Daily (Morning and Evening)
iv. Regular change of undergarments and socks
v. Regular washing of undergarments and socks.
vi. Keeping the feet dry by powdering.
h) NOT to leave the academy premises without proper permission. Not to
indulge in any prohibited practices of smoking, drinking and substance
abuse or to be found in possession of same.
i) Not keep cash or jewellery.
j) DO NOT KEEP ANY OF THE FOLLOWING EXPENSIVE ITEMS:-
i. Electronic and electrical appliances.
ii. Smart phones.
Anyone found to be in possession of prohibited items, will be subject to
strict disciplinary action.
k) Not to be in possession of any personal weapons, i.e., guns, firearms,
ammunition, air gun, knives, etc.
l) Do not wear photo chromatic lenses if accustomed to wearing corrective
vision spectacles.
In the Academy the cadets are encouraged to be self-reliant and believe in the
dignity of labour. It would help your son to settle down. If he practices the
following simple activities before joining:-
a) Stitching of buttons and minor repairing of his clothes.
b) Polishing his shoes (leather and canvas).
c) Washing his under garments, socks and handkerchiefs.
d) Making his bed.
e) Keeping his clothes and personal effects neatly in his cupboard.
f) Keeping track of all his personal possessions.
g) Making a dhobi list and checking returned items accurately.
h) Filling bank withdrawal from and maintaining his pocket money
account.
i) Covering all textbooks, copies, and cupboard with laminated brow
paper.
j) Packing his clothes for travel.
k) Writing of letters.
4. All fees, bills and other dues must be paid by the parents at least ten days before the starting of the term, by Bank Draft favoring payable at ______________________________________________________________. The cadet’s name, Roll number and class must be written on the reverse of the bank draft. Failure to pay the fees on time entails withdrawal of the cadet from the Academy.
5. Cadets are obliged to use the following facilities, which are provided by the
Academy.
i. They shall live in Hostel provided, which foster a spirit of camaraderie and
spirit de corps.
ii. They shall dine in the Cadets’ mess where all cadets eat together in a
common dining hall. They are provided good, clean and wholesome food
in a healthy environment.
iii. Medical treatment is provided in the nearby Hospital as an outpatient or if
admitted.
6. Granting of compassionate Leave:
Normally no leave is granted during the term. The Director has the power to
refuse requests for cadets to be sent home to attend religious festivals. marriages etc.
during the term. The Director solely at his discretion may grant compassionate leave on
extraordinary grounds such as death/serious illness in the immediate family etc. wherein
it is felt that the presence of the cadet at home is inescapable. Parents are accordingly
advised to desist from making requests for leave during the term unless exceptional
circumstances as aforesaid so warrant.
7. Visit by Parents Parents are welcome to visit their sons during the term only on holidays provided they have obtained prior permission of the Director and have given adequate notice. This is to ensure that the Academy routine is not disrupted. On arrival parents are expected to meet the Director during their visits. They are requested not to visit the Hostels lest the psychological equilibrium of the cadets be disturbed. They may take their sons out on an out pass with the permission of the Director. Not more than two out passes are allowed per month (only one out pass allowed per month or as specified in the curriculum). Once, during the term on a specified day, as per calendar a parent is allowed to take their son for a night out pass provided they pick him up and drop at school themselves.
8. Vacations
Vacation date will be as per the Academy diary. Parents are responsible to
ensure that their children are picked up and join back on due date as notified by the
Academy. If the Cadet is hospitalized during leave and is unable to join on due date, the
Academy should be immediately informed about the probable date of joining. Original
medical documents must be submitted for the Director to sanction sick leave.
